The Joy's of it being a Monday!

Well I thought that it was going to be such a great day......
1. I had no kids to drop off at school or babysitters since Madison wanted to stay with my parents and Joshua stayed with his dad.
2. I woke up on time and was dressed and ready to go by 7.
Well I was so wrong about that, but the day is young so it has time to turn around.

While driving this morning I did my usual routine and low and behold a HWY patrol man flashed his lights at me. Thoughts kept going thru my mind as to why he had pulled me over and I didn't understand what I did to have him do this. Well he struts up to my window, Proof of insurance and license please.....then persist to ask me if I knew why he had pulled me over? Well NO I dont, and he preceeded in telling me that I had ran a stop sign. I said I don't believe that is what I did, but maybe I didn't sit at the stop sign the amount of time that I should. Well needless to say I got a ticket for it and Im sure paying dearly for it.

Well I made it to work and now Im looking through my email and come across my new thought for the day and it has made the day better.......I have attached it so you to might enjoy.

DEEP THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:

What is Your Mission Statement?

Each of us needs to have a personal Mission Statement. Jesus gave us His mission statement in Luke 4:18 when He said "The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised..." His mission statement is clear definition of what He was sent here to do and accomplish. Everything he did and said was according to His mission statement. Our mission statement should speak to our life long objectives. The mission statement is what we use to look back over the day and evaluate if the things we did were productive. If our activities did not contribute to our mission statement, then we do not need to do those things anymore. Today, let us ask God what is His purpose for our lives. We will ask and He will give us a scripture that will lay the foundation for our statement. It is a great day because finally we will find out why we are here.

"MAD SWEET CHEEKS"

Mad Sweet Cheeks is something that I started up just for fun. The name comes from my child Madison and she thought up the rest and I think the sound of it goes together quite nicely. I make TuTu's, hairbows and holders, among other things. Well I just thought that I would share and periodically Ill have new pics of some of the new things that I have made.

Another Gloomy Day

Today is definitely gloomy, but that is how it has been for the past couple of days. Wednesday it rained and rained and then early Thrusday morning there was a tornado in my mother's hometown of Magee. It destroyed the church that she attended as a child, a church that both my grandparents are buried and a lot of other family members. Needless to say it was a sad thing to occur for lots of people. Joshua was with Dewayne on the Smith-Simpson county line so I worried about them for part of the day since I wasn't able to get ahold of them until lunch, but when I did I felt so much better and relieved that they weren't having issues with the electricity as so many people were. It is an awful thing that happen and it must had been seeing that the national news caught up with the story.

Tomorrow is going to be a big day for us. Madison has a Dance competition for Jazz and Baton so that will take up our morning. Following the competition we have my nephew's birthday party and this will be his 3rd birthday. It is so hard to believe these kids have grown as fast as they have. It is fun to watch how they are developing their personalities. I also plan on taking some pics sometime this weekend bc that is something that I have come to use as a sort of therapy and it helps to be outdoors and to capture different things. I will have to post some of the stuff that I have done, its all amatuer.

Thought for the day:

Look for Opportunities

Jesus' purpose was to do the business of His Father. He did not have a job instead He started looking for the work that needed doing. His market was not "the job market," but it was the people around Him who had unmet needs. He wasn't looking for a job, He was looking for opportunities. In order for us to move to another level, we need to change our mind set. Jesus had a mind set that was different from the people around Him. He had to change the mind set of His disciples in order for them to make a difference in the world. We must have a different mind set from the world if we are to make a difference in the world. We must see ourselves as agents of change. Opportunities are coming to us the guise of the unmet needs of others. Today, let us look for opportunities that God will bring to us. They will not look like what we would expect but they will be recognized by their calling, "UNMET NEEDS" This is a great day.

First Time Blogger....Getting to know us.

Well lets see where do I start.....

My name is Heather and I have two wonderful children, Madison who is 7 and Joshua who is 4. I work a full time job with GroupOne Health Source out of MO, but my office is out of the Medical Mall in Jackson. Its a job that I have come to like and enjoy most of the time, but it is like any job and has its ups and downs. Madison my 7 year old takes dance from Ms. Beverly's in Brandon and she loves it. At this time she takes Ballet, Tap, and Baton and we do competition's once a month which we enjoy. She took an IQ test a few weeks ago and scored 123 which is Superior. She has been invited to attend the schools Venture program which is kinda like a gifted class in a way. Madison has such a sweet spirit and loves to be a helper. Though at times she can be very dramatic which I take full credit for bc I know I can make a situation the same way at times. It's our nature I guess....the worriers. Joshua was taking karate, but at this time we felt that it was just best to keep him out until he matures a bit bc those karate moves were becoming something he did on us when he was upset. Doctors diagnosed him with ADHD, but I refuse to claim that. The doctor didn't feel we should put him on Medicine for it, but change his diet and have counciling sessions first which seems to have worked out. He is so much clamer now which I praise God for everyday. Joshua is a mama's boy and always wants to be with me every second of everyday. I worry about kindergarten in the fall and if he is going to be able to be a big boy and go like all the other children and not cause problems for the teachers. That is a daily prayer.

Im a child of God and yearn to learn and know more every single day. He has been so good to me and my family. I was brought up Methodist and when I was married in 2003 I was introduced to what some people call "Holy Rollers" or Oneness Pentecostals. There are a lot of different names you could call it, but I am simply a child of God. The veil has been lifted and like in the song Amazing Grace, I once was blind, but now I see. About 3 weeks ago I was baptized in the name of Jesus and it was a wonderful day. I had never been sumerged in water before bc that's not how the Methodist do it. I was sprinkled on the forehead when I was a baby and then confirmed and sprinkled again when I was around 11 or 12. I honestly couldn't tell you the reasoning behind that method, but I can tell you about being baptized in Jesus Name. In Acts 2:38 it says plainly,

"Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost."

Isn't that just awesome? Being forgiven of all of your sins and your slate being completely wiped cleaned? And then on top of that being filled with the Holy Ghost, what could be better than that and with having the Holy Ghost comes power to defend yourself against evil. Call on God and ask him to come into your life and you will see a transformation that is so amazing. You will see changes and blessings being poured upon you.

Today's Deep Thought:

Surrender

If we are to be the best for God, we need to let Him be God in our lives. How do we do this? In I Peter 5:6-7 it says "Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time:(7) Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you." God's responsibility is to care for His children. Our responsibility is to allow Him to do just that. He wants to care for us for all eternity. It is human nature to try to care for ourselves. We feel we can make it on our own power and strength, but we can't. We were not made to care for ourselves. We were made for the Glory of God. Today, let us rely on God to be God, and let us cast all of our cares on to Him. He is waiting to care for us right now. Surrender!!

That is from an email that I get daily from The Deep Thought that Greg Blair sends. I liked its meaning and thought that I would share.
